Backend and distributed systems engineer who also ships the frontend — one person, whole systems.

You need services that stay up and someone who can own them end to end — the Kubernetes underneath, the services on top, the monitoring that catches trouble before your users do, and the interface those users actually see. That is the work I do, solo, from architecture through deployment.

The proof is a telecom operations platform I built and operated alone. This site itself is a live platform showing the architecture deep-dives and running the demos, so you can judge the work instead of taking my word for it.

How we start

  1. 01

    Send a short note

What the system is, where it hurts, and when you need it working. Email or the form — both land in the same inbox.

  2. 02

    A 30-minute scoping call

We walk the stack, the constraints and the deadline. You leave with my honest read on the work, including if I'm the wrong person for it.

  3. 03

    Start on one scoped piece

A single defined deliverable to begin — contract or full-time. You see how I work before anything bigger depends on it.

Experience

Software Engineer @ Independent

Sep 2025 - Present

Istanbul, Turkey · self-directed, building and operating my own products (not client work)

  • Designed, built and shipped the projects on this site end to end — the base station O&M platform on Kubernetes, sole on-call for its first year in operation, and Feather, a complete subscription mobile product in Flutter
  • Replaced the platform's Haversine distance maths with PostGIS spatial indexing: geographic queries over 100,000 records went from 8.5 seconds to 5 milliseconds
  • Built this portfolio as a live platform rather than a page: a module registry, lazy-loaded interactive demos, a window manager and architecture deep-dives in Next.js and TypeScript
  • Shipped and still operate İstanbul Chess, a live real-time multiplayer platform on Cloudflare Workers — one Durable Object per game, server-authoritative clocks, storage-backed reconnect

Research Engineer @ UpcoMinds

Feb 2025 - Aug 2025

Brussels, Belgium

  • Deployed Java/Spring Boot services on a self-managed Kubernetes cluster on AWS EC2 with Amazon RDS (PostgreSQL) for a production AI/ML pipeline
  • Provisioned the cluster in code via the Fabric8 Java client; cut AI model training time by 70% by partitioning datasets into 10 segments for concurrent processing across nodes
  • Wrote the Bitbucket Pipelines CI delivery pipeline, cutting deployment time by 60%, and secured API endpoints with Keycloak OAuth2 and RBAC

Software Engineer @ Freelance

Apr 2024 - Dec 2024

Istanbul, Turkey (Remote)

  • Built cross-platform medical imaging app in Flutter with custom TensorFlow models, achieving 95% diagnosis accuracy across 10,000+ images
  • Developed financial planning app with Python backend, integrating OpenAI GPT API for natural language budget analysis

Software Developer (intern → part-time) @ Amani AI

Jul 2022 - Feb 2023

Istanbul, Turkey

  • Shipped an OpenCV pipeline detecting invalidated Turkish identity documents in 2 weeks against a 2-month estimate, removing manual review from the fraud-check workflow

Have a system that needs owning?

Tell me what it is and when you need it working. That's step one.
